DPT Career Hub
A Single-Screen Planner for a Doctor of Physical Therapy Track
A personal planning app for someone working toward a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, built from a career roadmap that had been living in a spreadsheet. One screen, seven sections — dashboard, tasks, study hub, program research, fitness projects, milestones, and profile — with section state held in a single client-side store so the whole track is navigable without a page change.
The Problem
Long-horizon personal goals fragment across tools, and the fragmentation is what kills them. A spreadsheet holds the plan but never surfaces the next step; a task app holds the steps but loses the plan they belong to.
Research & Discovery
The section list came directly from the roadmap spreadsheet's own tabs, rather than from a guess at what a planning app should contain
Strategy
One Screen
Seven sections switched in place, so the whole multi-year track stays visible at once.
Mirrors The Source
Sections come from the roadmap spreadsheet's own structure, not from a generic productivity template.
Key Decisions
Kept it a single screen with in-place section switching rather than routed pages, because the point of the app is seeing the whole track at once and routing would have hidden exactly what needed to stay visible
Built it as a personal tool for one named user rather than a generalized product. The roadmap it encodes is specific, and generalizing it would have removed the thing that made it useful

Sections In One View

Source Roadmap Consolidated
- Consolidated a career roadmap spreadsheet into a working app with dashboard, tasks, study hub, program research, fitness projects, milestones, and profile sections
- Built section switching through a single client-side store so the app is one screen with no route changes, keeping the whole track in view rather than behind navigation
- Structured program research as first-class data alongside tasks, so deadlines and prerequisites for each target program sit next to the work required to meet them
